The fire danger warnings come after two separate wildfires broke out in the city of L.A. in the past week. In one of those blazes, the Santa Ana winds prompted warnings from the National Weather Service.

It’s the first time such a warning was issued since the 1980s.

In the state of Texas, which has been ravaged by three major wildfires this week, firefighters were also on the lookout for fires, although the warnings weren’t issued until Thursday night.

A firefighting helicopter was en route Wednesday to attack the blaze at the former Smoot Hotel that was started by Smollett, the report said.

Investigators are working to determine the full extent of the fires, the report added.
