No emergency outages after Santa Ana winds prompted Southern California fire danger warnings
At least three wildfires were burning across the Southland on Thursday night. In Southern California, a wildfire was threatening the historic Hearst Castle where Robert E. Lee and his grandson, Confederate President Jefferson Davis, once held court.

The fire danger warnings come after two separate wildfires broke out in the city of L.A. in the past week. In one of those blazes, the Santa Ana winds prompted warnings from the National Weather Service.
It’s the first time such a warning was issued since the 1980s.
In the state of Texas, which has been ravaged by three major wildfires this week, firefighters were also on the lookout for fires, although the warnings weren’t issued until Thursday night.
In Southern California, firefighters were fighting a pair of wildfires on Thursday that were ignited by a thunderstorm, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
The fires were being held at the edge of the area in which they occurred as crews continued to try to battle them.
In Los Angeles, flames burned on Wednesday near the home of actors Jussie Smollett and Abra McDonald.
LAPD has not determined which group of people started the fires.
A firefighting helicopter was en route Wednesday to attack the blaze at the former Smoot Hotel that was started by Smollett, the report said.
Investigators are working to determine the full extent of the fires, the report added.
