Two L.A. City Council meetings to be held virtually next week

SACRAMENTO — Two meetings are planned for Monday, March 26th, to discuss an initiative to make it easier for residents to testify before City Council.
The meetings will also be streamed live online, as originally scheduled.
These meetings are being held on Monday, March 26, at 4 PM and 6 PM on KPCC’s Facebook page. The meetings are set for Monday, March 26th.
The two meetings are being set up after the City Council decided to move to a “virtual conference room” format. The City Council has also taken on a role in making these new electronic hearings as accessible as possible, including by adding a link to the KPTV website. The City Council is also making it easier for residents to submit testimony during the meetings, by making that available through a link on the KPTV website.
The meetings were originally scheduled to hold on Tuesday, March 27th, and were moved to a Sunday, March 31st.
“We wanted to make sure people from across the city were able to take part in this conversation in a timely manner,” Lenny Siegel, the Chief Communications Officer for the City of West Sacramento, said.
The two meetings will be held on the same day, to try to ensure that the meetings are held as conveniently as possible.
It is also important to remember that this is not a meeting where people are told what to think. These are community meetings, and people are able to voice their opinions.
